The Strength of Biblical Femininity

A dear friend of mine just gave birth to a lovely little girl. She’s the first girl in the family, and it is enchanting to see how everyone is doting over this tiny bundle. That baby will always be the best dressed in the room. She will always be pointed to the God that made her. Her brothers and father will fiercely protect her from any semblance of harm, and her mother will model godliness to her, exemplifying Christ in her ways.  

I am thrilled at the privilege to watch on as these things take place, and to love this girl earnestly.…

A Woman's Place

I love listening to music from the mid 20th century era, particularly when the mundanity of administrative work is upon me. Earbuds in, plodding away at the keys at my old job, I listened to Ray Charles croon about his woman.

More than just a nice girl


I was always conscious about what people thought of me. Sometimes (a lot of the times) I was guilty of trying to live up to peoples’ expectations of how I should be or act. A friend sparked something in my heart one day when she said, “I think you’re growing out of being a nice girl and really stepping into who God has called you to be.”

Many times, I have been labeled as the nice girl, someone who does no wrong and is always happy.…
